Zebra TC21-HC has particularly disinfectant-resistant white plastic housing. It withstands regular cleanings with up to 30 different disinfectants. Plus, during conception special attention was paid to the housing, so that it does not exhibit crevices and the pre-installed plug prevents the nesting of bacteria and germs in the USB-C connection.
To ensure reliable communication, the touch computer features Wi-Fi 802.11ac/r and optionally a walkie-talkie function via »Workforce Connect Push-to-Talk Express« or »Workforce Connect Voice3«. Thanks to the latter, the TC21-HC may also be used like a fully equipped PBX handset. Also, Zebra has equipped it with a programmable button. If necessary, pressing it a few seconds is enough to call for help.
The TC21-HC features a 5" HD capacitive touch screen with Corning Gorilla Glass, a removable 3,300 mAh lithium-ion battery with up to 10 hours of operation, a 1.8 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 octa-core processor, as well as 3 GB RAM and 32 GB flash. The interfaces include WLAN, WPAN, high-speed USB 2.0, NFC, Bluetooth 5.0 and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). An integrated 5 megapixel front camera is well suited for video calls and the 13 megapixel colour camera on the back for occasional barcode capture. For scan-intensive tasks, the TC21-HC is optionally available with the SE4100 enterprise scan module.
Thanks to its compact size and low weight, the TC21-HC may be easily stowed in a smock pocket and carried all day long. The wrist strap ensures a secure hold, so that it may be operated comfortably with one hand. Plus, the touch computer survives multiple falls onto concrete and is fully protected against dust in accordance with IP67. It even withstands complete immersion under water for a short period of time.
