TSL1062  is compact, Bluetooth dual technology HF RFID and laser barcode scanner is battery operated and communicates wirelessly with a host computer via a standard Bluetooth® interface.

The Hand Scanner is compatible with devices running Windows Mobile 5/6, Windows CE, and Windows XP/Vista/7. The Bluetooth® interface enables the operator to use the scanner up to 100m from the host computer. The scanner has audible, visual and vibrator indication of a read.

The design incorporates a 1D laser scanner for reading barcodes. The combination dual technology scanner also provides the ability to read and write to ISO15693 13.56MHz high frequency smart label transponders.

Wireless communication

The hand scanner is compatible with devices running Android, Windows XP/Vista/7/8, Windows CE, or Windows Mobile 5/6/6.5 (the host device must have Bluetooth® functionality). The Bluetooth® wireless technology interface enables the operator to use the scanner up to 100m from the host computer. The lightweight construction and ergonomic design of the 1062 Bluetooth® HF RFID & Barcode Hand Scanner allows dexterity to be maintained in challenging environments, whilst the rugged design of the scanner means that it can withstand multiple drops to concrete of up to 1.5m (5ft).

Dual Scanning Technology
The  design  incorporates a 1D laser  scanner for reading  barcodes. The  combination  dual  technology  scanner  also  provides  the  ability  to read and write to HF ISO15693 13.56MHz high frequency smart label transponders. The  charge  cradle  provides  charging  for  a spare battery pack as well as the main device, and   also   provides   serial   communications   with  a  host  PC  for  firmware  up-grades  and  downloading of batch collected data. The combination scanner is available initially as an Explorer kit which contains the combination scanner,  sample  ISO15693  13.56  MHz  RFID  tags,  demonstration  application,  source  code  and full documentation. SmartWedge software for  mobile  devices  enables  easy  integration  with form based applications supporting most of the commonly used Control characters.

The latest release of the TSL UHF ASCII 2 Software Development Kit – for Android™ v1.4.0 provides classes to support configuration of a Reader’s Barcode Imager allowing developers to selectively adjust which symbologies are active and to configure other parameters such as valid code lengths or inclusion of check digits. A new ConfigureBarcode Sample Project has been added demonstrating the use of the new API. Additionally, all Sample Projects have been updated to improve the reader re-connection handling and provide better feedback as the process progresses.
